Mahoba: A tragic road accident occurred on Saturday on the Charkhari road under the Sadar Kotwali area, between Premnagar and Karhara villages. A state transport bus collided head-on with an unidentified vehicle, leading to a severe crash.
The impact of the collision was so intense that the bus lost control and overturned on the roadside. The driver of the bus died on the spot, while more than a dozen passengers sustained injuries.
Following the incident, chaos and panic spread at the scene, with locals rushing immediately to assist in rescue efforts. Upon receiving information, the police arrived promptly and shifted the injured to the district hospital with the help of ambulances. Some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
The police have taken custody of the deceased driver’s body and sent it for post-mortem examination. A search operation has been launched to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.
The accident also disrupted traffic on the route for some time.
Additional Superintendent of Police Vandana Singh visited the spot, assessed the situation, and ensured that the injured were immediately provided medical assistance.
